Recent Paintings
Stuart Pascoe’s recent oil paintings are a lyrical and emotional response to his immediate surroundings, specifically Montréal and its people. Stuart also finds inspiration in art history, especially the late 19th and early 20th centuries, yet he remains sensitive of and connected to the world and the art of today.
Composition, rhythm and texture of the paint surface, combined with the play of light and colour, are as important as the subjects represented.
People are shown in a moment lived.
